Job Summary

Under the direction of the Manager of Academic Computing Support, provides technical and operational support for students, faculty, and staff in assigned instructional computing areas (could include labs or other technical support areas)Currently assigned to student use areas at Westpointe Center and the Airport.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities & Knowledge Skills & Abilities

Extremely customer service oriented. Ability to work closely with team members from multiple departments. Strong working knowledge of computer systems, including hardware setup / troubleshooting, software setup / installation, general maintenance. Ability to supervise others. Excellent organizational skills. Ability to train others. Ability to learn systems and procedures easily. Wide degree of creativity. Ability to adapt and proactively offer solutions to a changing technological environment. Ability to communicate effectively with a broad range of diverse people, ability, culture, ethnic background, to maintain good working relationships across the College. Ability to work with all groups in a diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural and ethnic background of community college students, faculty and staff, including those with disabilities.

Minimum qualifications

Associate Degree in Computer Science or Computer Information Systems or a discipline that uses computers extensively. Two (2) years of direct, paid, full-time work experience in the technology service industry. Substitutions allowed for additional education or additional work experience on a 1:1 basis. Part-time experience may be substituted on a prorated basis.
