Responsibilities The Mechanic II is responsible for the maintenance and repair of heavy equipment and vehicles. This position supports the Construction team and works with personnel within the department. In addition, you will: Perform replacement of electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical components Utilize all technical support resources (e.g., operator, parts, and maintenance manuals, etc.) in troubleshooting, determining procedures, and identifying parts needed for repair Perform unit condition inspections and reports Maintain work area in a safe, clean, and orderly manner Perform all tasks in a manner fully consistent with MasTec Safety practices and procedures Provide accurate and sufficient information on all required documents Demonstrate analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail Deliver results and strive for continuous improvement Be highly motivated and able to work independently Establish and maintain good rapport with co-workers, supervisors, vendors, customers, and others Maintain a high degree of confidentiality with sensitive information and perform all tasks with integrity Maintain a current DOT Medical Certification Perform other duties as required and/or assigned Qualifications About You: Have a High School Diploma, state-approved High School Equivalency, or GED Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license Utilize excellent verbal, written, interpersonal communication skills, customer service, and organizational skills Basics of mathematics and electronics Excellent record-keeping skills Work and travel in inclement weather when necessary, while working from a field service vehicle Be okay with exposure to moderate noise levels Physical effort to move objects and tools that may weigh up to 75 pounds; frequent stooping, bending, squatting, and kneeling Must be willing to travel Have a high level of dexterity Develop basic computer skills in Microsoft Office Advocate for safety in everything we do Mechanical repair experience of 3 years minimum Ability to read and understand schematics, electrical, and hydraulic Solid understanding of hydraulic systems Experience with aerial equipment, directional drills, excavators, backhoes, etc Have a class A or B Driver’s License Have experience in welding Being ASE certified, is preferred Compensation of $28-$34 per hour.
